But I could find one that I know is not a fact

What do you think? Can you find one - or maybe more?

The one about the Blue Crabs... it's true that the apron on the male is narrow and pointed, and the female's is broad and triangular... but it's a bit fanciful to say they're the Washington Monument and the Capitol!

Phew! I couldn't read all the way to the bottom! I'm going to bed!

Contradiction:

"The Swiss flag is square."

"Nepal is the only country without a rectangular flag (it looks like two pennants glued on on top of the other)"

The Swiss flag , if square, is not rectangular.

False:

"The 1957 Milwaukee Braves were the first baseball team to win the World Series after being relocated."

THe Yankees themselves were transplanted from Baltimore in the very early years of baseball.

" While the Chinese invented gunpowder, they were not the first to develop firearms. Sam Colt invented the
"revolving pistol." Therefore, all revolvers are correctly called pistols."

Sam COlt didn['t invent the revolver. He invented the manufacturing process that created the interchangeable parts that allowed the Colt to become so widespread in use. Revolvers exist from pre-French REvolution days.

"Debra Winger was the voice of E.T."

Not according to IMDB, which lists that part as played by Pat Welsh.

"The names of all the continents end with the same letter that they start with, e.g. Asia, Europe."

Yeah, North America and South America both not only start with teh same letter they end with but use differentl letters to represent them!;)

"Genghis Khan started out life as a goatherd."

His family was so poor they couldn't afford goats. THey couldn't afford ANYTHING.

"One of the many Tarzans, Karmuela Searlel, was mauled to death on the set by a raging elephant."

Kamuela C. Searle played the SON of Tarzan in the movie 'Son of Tarzan'. He died of cancer in 1924. There IS no 'Karmuela Searlel' that played Tarzan in a movie. Here's his biography as lited on IMDB:
"Samuel Cooper Seale was born to John Cooper and Sara Yates Seale in Waichinu, Kauai, Hawaii. He met Cecil B. DeMille on the beach at Waikiki in 1915, and took his advice to go to Hollywood where he appeared in at least two of DeMille's movies. He enlisted in the Army with the outbreak of World War I and was shipped to France. He received an injury and was medically discharged and returned to the United States before the war's end. He may have been slightly injured while tied to a stake being carried by an elephant during the filming of The Son of Tarzan in 1920. For years rumors persisted that he died shortly after the film was completed from injuries received during the filming. In 1921 Searle gave up acting to become a sculptor and painter. His career as an artist was cut short by disease. He died of cancer at the age of 33 in Los Angeles, Calif., on Feb. 14, 1924."

"Slinkys were invented by an airplane mechanic; he was playing with engine parts and realized the possible secondary use of one of the springs."

According to About.com:
Richard James and Betty James invented the slinky in 1945. Richard James was a naval engineer trying to develop a meter designed to monitor horsepower on naval battleships. He was working with tension springs (1943) when one of the springs fell to the ground. He saw how the spring kept moving after it hit the ground and an idea for a toy was born.

"The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper."

How coudl they know? THE original is missing, according to THIS fact:

"Original copy of the Declaration of Independence is lost. The copy in Washington D.C. is what is referred to as a holograph. That is a term for a handmade copy of a document and is not the same as a laser produced hologram."

"Leon Trotsky, the seminal Russian Communist, was assassinated in Mexico with an ice-pick."

Ice AXE, not pick.

"Money is made of woven linen, not paper"
It's not woven at all. It's paper made of recycled linen.
