what food is best for zebera plecs ??

when i get my zeb plecs in next wk or so what is the best food to feed them ?? i hear certain ones can choke oe not be able to eat some large bits of food ?? i lost 4 babies and dont wat the same to happen again was feeding on tetra prima and hikari carnivor sinkin pellets all help is welcome

I feed the hikari carnivore pellets along with the occasional massivore pellet broken up. Earth worm sticks and spirulina sticks from time to time.

Small zebras can choke on whole blood worms. You must chop up the worms or do not feed them. Any sinking meaty food that gets soft is fine. For small zebras fry- to about 1.25 inches you can feed frozen cyclop-eeze, frozen daphnia, frozen or live bbs as well. When they get some size frozen tubifex will work and once they clear about 1.5 inches you can start to think about feeding frozen blood worms. Mine also eat most flake foods as well.

I use a product from Kensfish.com that is great for fry and adults. It is called Golden Pearls and has a 60% protien content. I also use a lot of kens other foods like Veggie sticks with calcium and earthworm sticks. He has a great selection, great prices and has been very reliable even for me way up here in Canada. Been feeding Spectrum Thera+A since I bought mine about 10 months ago. They were pretty small when I first got them. Now that they're larger I occasionally drop in some hikari carnivore pellets as well as frozen spirulina brine shrimp

What size of pellet do you use for Spectrum Thera+A, is it the 1,2 or 3mm pellet?

I feed with Jbl novotab, Sera viformo, tetrabits granulat, and a different kind of carnivore pellet unnamed.
And frozen food as mysis, bloodworm and artemia.

Be sure to get the 'thera a' it has garlic added in and that's a good appetite enhancer and also helps ward off parasites.

thanks fern will make sure i do as that can help dont want none of that had outbreaks with fish b4 not funny and lost a few too. fingers crossed all will go well and get some spawns in the future to grow my collection and help keep these little stunners living on
