My L46 like to eat driftwood!?

i have 3 pieces 4-5cm L46 in 1 tank.. there is some slate cave and driftwood inside... i feed the hikari carnovious pellet at night(2 small pellets), in the morning i wake up.. they didn finish.. but i saw a lot of poo... is dark brown colour... and some is red colour(hikari)..dark brown colour is from drift wood? they ate a lot of drift wood??? thanks..

They could be nibbling on the wood?
I keep wood in any tank that has any kind of pleco in it just in case they want a nibble.

but the problem is that zebra look very thin... he like nibble the wood but dont like the pellet..........??

I would try some different foods. Some fish are funny with foods sometimes.
