How to disinfect second hand canister filter

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a second hand canister filter i was wondering how to clean it? Any tips?

I usually clean my equipment to "bleach" ... that is sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). After rinsing enough, soak in a solution with desclorificantes for a few hours.
