Just pick up my first juvi L46 zebras 2F and 1F. They are absolutely beautiful fishes, just wish they weren't so shy, wife says I got a pet log. Had these guys for a week now. I'm getting a little concerned that they are not eating. I had them originally in my community tank and they hid behind the sponge filter all day long. I've since moved them to a 29 gallon species tank with a big log with a hole, since I've read they are poor competitors for food. Plus I have some larger fish that I thought might stress them. So last night I moved them to my species tank I set up and put some food last night but I don't think they ate any. Any suggestion on what I could do to encourage them to eat. I put some sinking hikari carnivore pellets and omega 1 ciclid flakes.

Hi Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new zebs :D I have found the main worry with new zeb owners is that they dont see them eating I always say the same thing, feed them just after lights out and they will come out in the dark and eat they will not starve themselves too death but they will not eat with you watching over them so please try not too stress to much over your new babies kick back relax and enjoy owning the prettiest ever plecos :D

Well it's been about 4 weeks now. From what I can tell the trio are doing okay. No sunken stomachs, I still don't see them much :( but that seems to be the case from what I've been reading. Should be getting some red cherry's next week, hopefully people will at least stop asking "Where's the fish?"
