I am speculating that this one got killed due to aggression.
I found it's skeleton inside the cave guarded by another Male.
The Skull got kicked out...Did I constructed my Zebra cave too small that they cannot escape the aggression once cornered?

Tight caves are what they prefer. One way to handle the infighting that can and does result in deaths is to get caves which come in two parts. This makes it easy to get fish or eggs/fry out should the need arise.

I know that plecocaves.com makes a few different size clay caves in two pieces.
