Hi
im going to try and build some slate caves and would like some help with what model of electric tile cutter to buy and also what type of slate to use? (normal roof slate of floor slate from diy tile/stores?)

Thanks

I use a £20 tile cutter from B&Q, it cuts up to 2cm thick tiles, which is more than enough for most slate pieces. I use normal roof slate or slate found washed up on the beaches.

Hope this helps.

Think I have the same cutter from B&Q LOL! Very good and slate floor tiles from B&Q or Wickes just make sure all natural slate :)

I prefer wall slate tiles, personally, as they're thin, so easier to work with. They're not always as readily available though.
