Hi all,
It's been six weeks since I got my Zebra.
Everyone here has been very helpful. I like to thank you all.
I have place 8 caves and they weren't using it but last week I notice that one have been using one of the cave but the other one is still using the drift wood.
Is there something that wrong why the other is not using the cave?

its possible, but I now have 6 adults, 3 females and 3 males and they all use caves even the female plecs, and there definately females as I have had eggs from all three, saying that the last couple were in fertile but at least they trying.

As for unoccupied caves, it maybe down to the position of the caves against the current, it maybe the best cave in the world, but if its not facing in the right direction, no one will go near it.

Trial and error, see which ones being occupied and angle the caves all in that direction, if you have 2 or more males, make sure theres a territorial divide like a piece of bogwood or rock to create a boundary, otherwise there will be fighting for domantancy etc.

Times also a good cure, maybe its too soon for your males to have had an explore of there new surroundings. Once your males are ready to breed, they will find the right spot.

Just be patient and hopefully it will bring its own rewards.

While it is the males who claim caves and use them for spawning, females and sub adults of both sexes will often shelter in them, especially overnight. Caves serve not only as spawning places but also as a place to hide from other.

Smaller zebras will tend to jam into as small a space as they can as it will keep larger fish out. Often caves are too big for this.

I dont think small pleco will use the cave. they will just hiding anywhere.
