You should definitely read through the forum and see how other people are setting up their tanks. We love to give information and feedback on your ideas, but honestly, it's just not feasible to try to advise on the set up itself for every new member. I'm sure you understand! There is a plethora of information available that I'm sure you'll find useful!

Yeah, makes sense

but it would be helpful to have a rule of thumb I(or anyone)can use.
Does this make me another one of THOSE newbies

?

Nope- it just means no two of us do it exactly the same.
But it also matters what size fish you will be getting as to what style setup works best. Smaller zebs have different needs than adults.

Have a look at
http://www.zebrapleco.com/article2.php it's few general guidelines in the article. Well oxygenated water seem to be more important than the current itself, except when you want them to spawn.
75L might be a bit small... not nessesarily because the zebs need more space, but it might be easier to keep a larger tank clean. Clean water is a must!
Good luck with your zebs!
