Congratulations!!!!
I was thinking maybe the cave needs to be tilted a bit in the back to help the fry stay in the cave?
Isn't that strange how they seem to come in three? You still have one more spawn to come!

Never mind how did you get such clear pics... how did you get those at all?? Mine disappear in a flash just from me tip toeing into the room. If I'm very lucky (and very sneaky) I can sometimes get a pic of a tail or most of a body... but then
WHOOSH! Gone.

I guess they still need to get used to me!
Congrats on your fry too. You must be thrilled!

Thanks every body. I am a very happy chappy.
Setup: 20 gallon long tank. Filtered by an external eheim 2212, an internal IPF3 power filter. A duo sponge filter, a 4 inch bubble wand and a hydor internal air pump.
Temp: 84-85F
Will test pH, gH and kH tonight. Again....I did nothing different to stimulate this spawn. Good water, consistent parameters and a good source of food..... Tetra Prima, Frozen Bloodworm, Brine Shrimp, Baby Brine Shrimp, Mysus shrimp, Cyclopse (sp?) etc etc.
Camera: Kodak DX4530
I guess I am very lucky with my Zebras, over the past month or 2 they are really quite active and seem much more confident with me around their tank. When I am doing my tank maintainence, one of the adults (the nanny) will actually come out into the open and try to intimidate the tube I use to syphon along the sand.

Gutsy little fella.
As far as what I am going to do with the new fry....I am leaving them be, for definate. One of them is already under the loving care of the nanny

whilst the other one is hanging out beside a completely different cave....bless um.
I'll keep you all updated.

Congrats Dr P

, better get cracking on that fish house. You'll definately be needing the extra space for the expanding zebra family, nice pictures by the way.
Well done mate.

I noticed your temp is/was 74-75. How long was it like this? You said you didn't do anything to stimulate the spawn? So does this mean they are always in 74-75? Do you ever raise the temp? I'm curious....
Thanks.

Well spotted there Wandj

That should have read
84-85 (I will edit my earlier post now so as not to confuse others that read this thread in the future).
Playing with temperatures to try and induce a spawn is somthing I have never done with the Zebras. I kinda leave them to it, fiddle as little as possible and they got down to it.

Uhhh.....I think I'm going to go run to my 55g tank and turn the heat back up again.
It's still at 82 right now after I turned them down to 76....thinking I might get a spawn because the colder water was the key.
Thanks for clearing that up.
