ph levels

ive set up a new zebra tank but the ph level is too high, about 8 but need to get it down to 6.5, anyone know the quickest and easiest way of doing it please,

u can use ph down, or put some driftwood in it, it will lower the ph down slowly

My PH is 7.6 works ok for me

Messing with the pH is the fastest way to kill zebras that I know of. If you need to modify your pH, buy an RO unit and combine some RO and some tap and let it gradually settle to a balance with driftwood and peat. Buffers can cause swings that will greatly stress the fish and zebras in particular. Zebras have NO problem dealing with a high pH, as long as there is no ammonia present and the filtration is adequate. Modifying your pH would be a very bad idea, IMO.

thanks for all your help, so you all agree that if i leave the water as it is the zebras will be fine with the high ph level?

Keeping it stable is more important than altering it in this case - if it is a new set up you may find that it will come down a little when the tank has fully cycled
