2 of my males are now holding, caught this pic of one of them yesterday
please excuse the algae on the glass

they were newly moved to the tank a week ago and I didn't want to disturb them

The two holding males spat out approx 60 fry between them and I now have another male holding so many he looks like a hamster

Don't they put they're eggs on a bubble nest on top of the surface?? My friend breeds some fancy one's and he told me that as soon as the female lays eggs, the male catches them and put them in the bubble nest that he made or else they will drown..

Simplex are mouthbrooders unlike Splendens that do use bubblenests, I used to breed those

Ah ok.. I mis read the part that says your males are holding.. I seen some green looking eggs inside that ceramic behind the fish, thought those are the eggs..
