Mine are in two 120L - 25g is 100L? (My calculator says 113L = 25g)

I have 4 adults and 13 fry in one tank and 5 adults in the other.

I had 8 in the one tank before I split the group, but you needs lots and lots of hiding places and caves to keep a peacful community with that many in as small a tank as that.

I wouldn't recomend 10 in 113L...

Shell231,

Easy, I use the formula 5 litres = 1 gallon
By the way, a little late, but welcome to the forum.

1 UK gallon = 4.54 litres (imperial)

1 US gallon = 3.785 litres

That many could be pushing it a bit in a tank of that size, you would have to be right on top of your tank maintenance IMO. However if you were to start off with lets say 10 and you were lucky enough to have 2 males and 8 females you could eventually split the colony between two tanks.

Hi Shell231

Whats the surface area of the tank? I would say just about perfect for a conlony of 1 male and 2- 3 females. If you have another male in there, you may get some territorial disputes. Saying that tank furniture is a wonderful thing. Place it right and they should be just dandy!!!

is that in the 2 ft tank you talking about rob?

24x12x12 is the surface area of that tank!
