Sojapat,

As a moderator of the plec section of the site you've linked to,

How would you deal with someone randomly, falsely enticed your subscribers to a rival forum??

I don't think we're a rival forum, as this forum is dedicated to Zebra only. I do however think sojapat should have linked to the thread where the fish is shown, if he really wanted to show the fish and nothing more. So, I've taken the liberty to change his link to the thread I believe he meant.

No rules broken, but (probably unintentional) bad manners on sojapats part ;)

Hi

I have to agree with Sojapat.

I am now a forum follower and it is nice to see something new.

It now appears that compared to days gone by relatively few people post.

Take care

Dave

Get off the moral high ground !
"Well as usual someone thinks I am being a nuisance ... "
Your original post just linked to the forum... not the thread..

Looked pretty muck like a spam post form a rival forum to me.
Dont single me out for pointing out your errors!

A few points here

I know it's not good to praise oneself so I'll leave that until later.

I hope the members of this site are here for the benefit of L46 and fish in general.

Take Sojapat, and yes he is a retailer.

I can't think of any other retailer who would even dream of selling L46's at around about the £100 mark.

There is an exchange system operating at the moment, I have exchanged with Sojapat and others, who in turn are doing the same.

I have been to Sojapat's shop on a number of occasions and the prices are usually 25% cheaper than anywhere else.

Many moons ago I asked for donations to a fish population at Chester Zoo, only Rob offered, maybe others would now, but Sojapat has offered sponsorship if I can persuade them to have a display tank of this fish in the new aquarium which is scheduled to open in 2010.

Posting pictures of a new fish, is only the same as when I posted pics of my L400, if I breed them I will sell them. I'm probably wrong here, I have no doubt these fish would sell without posting pics.

My motivation is to break even with electricity and food, you can ask Channett whether I am in it for profit.

Criticism without knowing all the facts, or even enquiring about them is small minded, and outside Rob, PM and McEve, few have contributed to the welfare of this fish and other fish so much as Sojapat.

Breeding is one thing, it's what you do with the fish afterwards that counts.

Take care

Dave

Dave,

Sorry, but have to correct you wrong here.
The original link was to the pier aquatics forum, not to the particular thread about the new fish.
IMO there should be no link at all as you can upload the pics in this forum.
Also on your thread on the L400 i cannot remember there was any intention of selling those fish in the pics, otherwise it was posted in PRIVATE sales and wants.

Sojapat,

From reference Dave i believe you are a responsable businessman.
This whole thing could have been avoided in 2 ways:

1: Post pics of a new fish in a thread in this forum with no sales in mind, which is very much apreciated.

2: Post pics of a new fish in the COMMERCIAL sales section in this forum with sales in mind, which is apreciated to.
You have to contact the siteadmin for this option.

I think you have to decide for yourself how you want to approach this forum, as a fellow hobbyist or as a salesman.
Maybe you want both, but keep in mind how and where and with what intention you are posting then...

Good Luck

Hi again

I'm here because I like L46.

I also like other fish, which I breed and sell.

The point about Sojapat is that he is posting a pic of a new fish.

He has never tried to sell his fish through this site, even recently when he had L46's.

Otherwise there may have been a list.

Apologies to Barbie in advance, and another guy who works for a major chain in the UK.

I see little criticism of the above, and it only became evident because of their postings, that they have both a commercial interest and a personal interest.

In my opinion, it is a little naive, idealistic to think that the commercial and the hobbyist can function independently.

Also IMO, if everything was commercial, all the fish would go to Japan.

Do we want all the fish to go to the highest bidder? Me no.

For me to endorse somebody well it takes a lot.

Take care

Dave
