He gave me a spawn in June and then went to the Bahamas for July I guess. But he is back now and on a new batch of eggs. I have been thinking he might be on eggs for the past two days but was unable to spot them for sure until a few minutes ago. My guess is the eggs are 3-5 days old.

Now if only Fatty would get back to business as well.

`Congrats TTA hope fatty is getting into shape someday

Fatty is the #2 male in the colony. He is wider than the alpha male, hence his name. Last year he gave me about 6 or 7 spawns, alternating with the Alpha male. I even had the #3 male spawn once.

This year only the alpha male has spawned so far.

This is a pic of fatty guarding the entrance to his cave which was full of nearly free swimming fry. You can see some of the ladies in the background. They kept trying to go into the cave, but papa Fatty would have none of it.

my alpha male was also very fat but now he is very thin since he just got his first spawn and still in the cave to take care his frys.
