Last to hatch ....

The pair laid about 60 eggs; the tank parameters were pH 7.6, temperature 26 C, kH 3 and GdH 4, following a good water change (60% continuous flow) 9 days before.

Thanks guys! :D
We'll keep a record of the development of the fry and add some piccies as they consume the yolk sac and assume their "adult" colouration. Stick around ... :fish:

Well this lot of fry is not with us any longer. Having grown enough to be self sufficient in any tank they were allowed to find their own homes.

Below a couple of photos as we were taking them out of their parents' tank:

We haven't got information on all of them, naturally, but a selected few we know about are doing very well.

In the meantime, the pairs have obliged again so there are some new lots of fry "crawling" about in the tank.

drd, are you keeping the youngsters with their parents or do you grow them in a separate tank? Share some of your photos please!!

Hey.... :)

I have a couple of my frys in small floatingtanks in the surfice in the parents tank which is a 720 litre s.a tank with altum and geophagus tapajos red head and about 40 different catfishes.

Some of the frys have move because the batch was so big, a dropped half of the youngsters in a tank of their own along with water from the parents tank and to filters from it.

No deaths since the move thanksfully  :D

Great photos.

Have you ever tried to move the fry from the floater tanks to the main tank? We have tried it this time with the L333s and a couple passed away for some unknown reason, straight after the move (within the next day or two). When we put them back in the floater they were fine. We guessed it was stress. Anybody had a similar experience or can explain it?
