Just when I thought I had finally got my head around the sexing thing this zebra comes along.

Pregnant female or extremely fat male, you decide. By the way the fish is very active, alert and obviously feeding well. (S)he is usually first at the dinner table.

Hi Adam

I don't want to worry you but the fish (could be either sex as you have said, I'm totally 50:50 with this one) but I have seen fat zebras but your fish doesn't look right to me. You can even see the vent! I would say either this fish is severely egg bound or it has an internal problem. Obviously it otherwise looks and acts healthy so I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe others can suggest something?

i seriously doubt this fish has any health problems. most of my fish looks like that after feeding, all their vents are visible.

in my opinion, i think its a male??

WOW!! You guys really must feed your fish!!

I'd personally not want my fish getting that full of food, IMO not good health wise. Little and often etc BUT they do look otherwise healthy so as they say, if it isn't broken for you don't fix it.

Ed_R, more like shrimp belly.

I've never seen him trying to woo the ladies like the other males, he just seems to be interested in food. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a fat poof.

I'm still at work, but when I get home I'll post the pictures of bubba that I took last spring. He looked very similar. It's just a good sign he's in condition for spawning, IMO. Mine showed the same vent and what not.

Cheers guys at least I know it's a male now and that it doesn't have any health problems. I was starting to get a bit worried as I have never seen such a plump zebra .

Definately at fat one,male at that!! I'm not sureprised he can't be bothered "wooing" the luvely ladies. He's probably scared he will miss out on a feed.

Going with the general consensus here, I would agree that he is just fine? Is it frozen or fresh shrimp?
