Green CardEh? Leaving for the states with zebras away from the missus?

Don't worry Tristan, you're not going to get rid of me that easily. Just leaving my options open that's all. :D I did apply for one many moons ago but got refused. I guess America wasn't ready for me yet.

NO, no, no, it's a personal term I use for all those silly Frontosa that these AFrican-crazy fisheads keep ;)
THere's probably 7 different kinds of frontosa, according to the 'experts', and which one a particular fish is depends on , as far as I can tell, the mood of the guy doing the answering and whether or not he likes the guy doing the asking.

I'm not really anti frontosa , but I don't want to see them EVERYWHERE! AUGH!

Hi Adam,

Problems with discus.NO . Only solutions. See me or Sid anytime.
Anyway back to your Frontosas or was that Gibberfish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out www.fishfinder.co.uk. Check under Shops. There is a Guy on there who specialises only in Frontosas both wild and his captive bred young. Will be much cheaper than the shops and you will have more choice. I have noticed some very poorly coloured specimens at LFS's.

Regards,
Des.
PS. Hows your baby Otos doing ?!!!!!!

Hi Des,

The ottos didn't do so well of the 12 eggs that they laid only 2 hatched out. The 2 that survived were quite badly deformed , bent pec fins and "bullish" type snouts. I thought that it would be better not to raise them so I culled them  Could this have been the hard shell syndrome. I don't understand what happened , I haven't changed a thing in the tank.

Thanks for offering to help with the Discus and the info on the Fronts, I think I'll be needing it as I have never kept Discus before. Just a quick question about Discus, German or Malaysian? Everyone keeps on saying German as they are hardier. Apparently the Malaysian ones are too use to regular daily water changes and it's difficult to keep this up. Is this true?

Tristan, down south I guess where you get sub tropical temps, Miami seems nice. Miami Vice left a lasting impression on me, maybe I'd live on a boat get a fat Croc and wear no socks. What do you think.

Hi Sid,

What type of Discus do you breed?.
I bought some 10 cm Checkerboards last weekend.
Off to see Mark Evenden at Devotedly Discus this weekend. Have bought his Jorg Stendker discus many years ago. They were terrific. Lets see what he's got now.. This Discus lark is addictive isnt it?!!!!!! As if I didnt know.!!!!!
Was trawling through some discus sites when I came upon your write up about your trip to the German Discus show and the Discus celebrities you met. Cool. Looks like you missed out on meeting Mark, on your trip.

Des.

Hi Sid and Tristan,
Red Turquoise is what I was going there for.
Phoned him up a few days ago and he said he had about 20 of the 14cm Red Turks. I remember from a few years ago that the Stendker strain always had the males with more pointed dorsals. Will let you know , what is available.

Hi Sid,

Told him that Squid said Hi.He was "chuffed".
He only had 5 large red turks. Bought 2 today.(Might cross them with my Checkerboards) The others werent "show "quality. He is due some more in 4 to 6 weeks time.
He told me that you won a prize in his January special day raffle.
I think the far eastern discus have overtaken the Germans when it comes to top quality discus.
Will go and see Paul and Angie Lucas from Discus South when I am in Southampton in a couple of weeks time.

Des.
