Wooohooo!! Finally!! I got a letter today stating that the planning application for the conversion of my garage into storage....coughcoughfish roomcoughcough has been completed.

For some crazy reason I have been reimbursed the £75 that accompanied the application. I was also told that there will be no inspection after the work has been completed so I can move the tanks etc in as soon as possible. I can also drop the fake storage story :D

Ewee, get your working head on ma man......work will start as soon as possible.

Excellent, great news. :)

You will have to take photos to show the progress etc. It would make an interesting article.

Good luck with it

Actually, I might have a fit of jealousy coming on  have longed for a fish house for a number of years now.
How many tanks do you hope to have and what will you be stocking them with?

Going to shoot for around 10-15 Twenty Gallon tanks on a rack along one side of the room. I was planning on breeding various Apistogramma and more than likely some Corys (to keep Ewee happy ;)) but now we have a breeding pair of Zebras, I can see a lot more on the horizon.

Also in one corner, I will have a 200G tank for larger cichlids/oddballs.

I have a dream tank that would hold merodontotus tigrinus, a golden red tailed arowana and a breeding group of Motoro stingers. As i said just a dream

Our local shop had a jurensis in with a motoro and the jurensis bought it with a sting to the head - nasty stuff.

Your fish house sounds cool though - Keep us posted

Great Job Dr. P
I doing the same with my garage! But I have a question, you said you were going to put a rack for 12-20 gal tanks, how are you going to make that? I have been searching the internet for awhile and have not really found anything. How were you going to pull this off? With wood, metal, etc? I have blue rams, checkboard cichlids and hopefully zebras that I need to build some sort of grow out tanks. Any help would be helpful.

Its going to be wooden racks but you would have to speak to Ewee as he is the guy actually doing the racks. I am sure he will reply soon.

Here's a link for Dexion Rackin. It can be pricey, but you quite often see it appearing un E-bay for pennies. Only problem is pick up.

I don't use it as I have a midget living in my garage ( car), but it really is the best possible stuff for fish tanks.

HI Dr.P

Your right, there are no prices on the site, but I will see if I can find some just to give you an idea.
