I am going to purchase a 100 gallon acrylic tank either for Zebs and Discus, or marines.

The tank measurements are 60x15x30 i will support the tank using 6 pillars of concrete blocks with a kitchen worktop for the top, then face the front with wood so it looks like a normal cabinet.

Does this sound plausible and which is the best material considering strenghth,weight,e.t.c. for the top of the concrete blocks kitchen worktop is thick chipboard covered with melamine.

Perfectly plausible.
My 125 US gal (72x18xwhatever) lives on something similar (concrete blocks, styrofoam, OSB board).

30" is tall for an acrylic though innit? 's gonna be some thick acrylic.
