Post by stanchung »

Hi all from Kuala Lumpur,
Just made myself very poor to have some of these fascinating striped cuties. [can't believe I said that!]

This forum is fantastic for a total z pleco newbie like me.
Hope to learn how to breed them from you guys!

Hello!

A bit nervous about this fish considering the 1001 ways it can get trapped/killed! argh!
Have read like 500 posts in one sitting... fascinating!

tmh, super cute

John, you speak bahasa?

I'll be getting 2juveniles at 2 cms and one at around 6cm.
Is it wise to mix them? They'll be in a planted tank with sand. I'll be making a couple of caves for them.

if you just start breeding...
I will suggest to get bigger ones...
2cm is really easy to lose if inexperience...
3-4cm is safer...

Goodluck~~~ 8)

My first impression is that they are a bit like discus in terms of needs, except that they wiggle about and like to hide in caves! lol
Having kept discus for 6 years I guess it shouldn't be too hard to keep an L46. [er...]

At 2 cm, it would be another 2 years before anything happens, I guess!
Thanks for the tip, I'll be posting some newbie questions as soon as I finish reading as many related topics!
Regards
