Can you put 2 or more caves next to each other?

As some of you know, I have the equipment for making slate tile caves. I was thinking of some designs and was looking at multi level cave setup. I was wondering of zebras will not have problems with each other if there is another zebra next to it's cave. I was thinking of a cave design, like this...

The above is just a rough draft. The bottom pieces will of course be the same length and the 2 caves on top will together be the same size.

Will it cause an issue?

Try different things, once I got 2 spawns at the same time, unusual, 6 caves and they chose the caves next to each other.

If everything was certain with Zebras then there would be enough to go round.

Experimenting keeps things fun and enjoyable. Plus you never know till you try. Just think, if it works, you get credit for it. 8)

@ crazy.eddie:

no problem, perfect design!
just take a look at this breeding set up:
http://www.welszucht.at/seitenfotos/zuchtanlage.jpg
and caves like this from another breeder:

might be an idea to put the backside of the middel cave on the other side,
this way you create more space between the entrances

good luck!

Cool. I'm glad it could work.

I actually thought about that. The only thing is I won't be able to see the plecs. My other idea was to make the caves coming out of 2 sides, but instead of them meeting, there would be a plate in between.

i like the idea to create some sort of area on top where you can put plants in, great to fill them up with anubias and let it grow over the cave entrances, this gives some shade over the entrance

Good to know John. Which direction is your current going to?

John, to have the pic show up in your post, you need to...
1. Store the file using one of the online photo storage sites ( www.putfile.com , www.photobucket.com , www.imageshack.us)
2. Once the file is uploaded and stored, you will get a direct URL to the file. For example,

Code: Select all

http://www.welszucht.at/seitenfotos/zuchtanlage.jpg
3. In your post, put the beginning image tag Image%20before%20the%20url%20and%20closing%20image%20tag%20[/img] at the end of the URL, like this for example...

Code: Select all

[img]http://www.welszucht.at/seitenfotos/zuchtanlage.jpg[/img]
Now your post, will look like this...

BTW, are all those your tanks? Are you breeding zebras in all of them?

LOL. Too bad. I was very impressed if it was your setup.

Regarding the image, the link you provided is a URL to a page, you need to provide a link directly to an image file.

Try to find a local pottery/ceramics club, they may be able to help you by making them. Also, check out Aquabid.
