Hi guys. i am just setting up a new tank. but with black sand. I was woundering what is the best way to clean the sand. In my other tank i have used normal sand and it is alway really dirty. i have to clean it every other day by waving a net over it and getting the floting dirt. What is the best way to clean the sand and how thick should i have it.

What filtration do you use? I have sand in all bar a few tanks and I find it really depends on the filtration and/or the furniture in the tank. I use a syphon pump which is made by Aqua One I believe who make the Biorb tanks, love it to bits!
