How old are your fry?

Do they have "pearl effect" bellies? We need to compare notes...

Thanks guys and gals...

The fry are actually of varying ages...the oldest are about 3 months and the youngest about 2-3 weeks. At the last count I made 22...it's so difficult to get an accurate count of them. :D

As for the pearl effect bellies....I guess yes it does kinda look that way. Although perhaps it's exagerated by the use of the flash. In reality the look like exact replicas of their parents, above and below.

22 fry? Am coming aroung to steal your tank! :D

I take it you've had a second spawn since you discovered the fry in the tank? Well done. I hope you have more success.

second spawn?!?!......lol I think I'm actually on my fifth. OK I don't think a couple of the spawns produced anymore then a couple of fry...but since I posted the original thread saying I had fry I don't think the male has spent longer than 7 days in total wihtout a female in his cave. Literally he seem to have a female (and sometimes 2 at the same time) in his cave permanently.

Strange thing is I'm not even encouraging spawning anymore...I haven't since the very first spawn. In fact I now drip feed the water changes into the tank so as not to create spawning conditions just so as to give him some time off...but they don't seem to be taking any notice lol!

It would seem they are off on their own and there is nothing I can do about it lol :D

Very cool pics
