Would you PLEASE attempt to use punctuation and correct spelling? We have members all over the world that don't necessarily have english as a first language. Your posting style makes it VERY difficult for them to read and causes my pm box to fill up with complaints. Trivial posts, posts that are unintelligible and "wow, that's great" types will continue to disappear on you until you manage to clean up your act.

With that said, most of the people breeding these fish on the board have owned them since before the ban. Basically it will do no good whatsoever to research where they were purchased when they can no longer be purchased there and potentially every wholesaler in the country could have fish collected from one specific region, so they're possibly related. There's just no way to know.

Were did you get yours.

We could track it as far as the wild or an uknown dealer.
Like say person 1 got there fish from the wild, then person 2 bought from person 1, then person three wants to buy fish unrealted and acidently buys from person 1 and 2 therfor getting fish that are related. If everyone just says who they got them from or if they were from the wild or uknown source it should be enough to tell somwhat if two fish might be related although its limited to members of this forum

My breeders are all wilds. Most everyones will be. That's my point. This thread is all a moot point. Noone will have any idea if the wilds they bought from a wholesaler on the east coast are any way related to the ones that someone else purchased from a wholesaler on the west coast. It's only been the last year or so that any real numbers of zebra F1s have been available. That's the purpose of the breeder registry on the main part of the site, to track exactly that.

Luckily neither of you have been deluged with private messages and administrative messages requesting we get a handle on thebuddy's terrible posting style and attitude. I've asked, pm'd, suggested, removed offensive posts and yes, finally started publically requesting better behavior. Sorry if that seems harsh Andrew. The other option is that I give thebuddy a time out from the board to give us all a break from having to stay on top of his inability to follow the few rules Rob asks us to. At this point, I'm ok with either. How about you choose for me?

Im with Barbie. Look at his post count. Since 6 March his has made over a 140 post with most having no useful information or contribution to the site. I am tired of weeding through his post everytime I get on here. I havent sent a PM yet but have thought about it.

i agree buddy has posted some stupid things in the past but in this case i think he is genuinely looking to do some research and i dont think there was anything wrong with his posting style, punctuality or question. this is a forums after all, its main purpose is to chat amongst ourselves and help eachother learn :?

The main purpose of the board is to be a source of information about the fish we all love. Not misinformation, or loads of tripe that must be sorted through to get to the good stuff. The rules for the board are there for a reason, mainly because Rob wants them and he's the bloke shelling out the coinage to make a go of a place for the rest of us to enjoy and share our information.

Trivial posts and other such detritus literally waste his money and the staff's time. Obviously you don't mind sorting through them, but you really are a minority if the number of complaints that come our way are any indication. Thanks for your input. I agreed to try to sort out the problem with thebuddy but I think I'll just vote for the time out instead the next time there's an issue. Sometimes you just can't win :).

I agree Andrew, I don't think buddy is the perfect forum member but he has certianly improved since he arrived. True his spelling does leave a lot to be desired and it does irritate me at times when trying to understand what he is saying. However his attitude has improved a lot and he deserves a break at least for doing that much.

I think as far as this topic goes....it's a pointless one, and even if everyone responded with the info Buddy is requesting it would hold no value. Sorry Bud but it's true...
Having said that, 'trivial' is subjective. We do have an obligation to be open to and welcoming of new members no matter how ignorant they maybe on certian subjects, especially if it's L46's. As that is what we are all here for, to learn more. We can't expect people to arrive already knowing what we would classify as the basics. We all arrive at different ages and with different amounts of information and experience to offer, some have more some have less. So what may seem trivial to one isn't necessarily trivial to someone else..

I think at then end of the day Buddy needs a break...he has obviously been trying.

But Bud that by no means you haven't still got a way to go. If you have trouble spelling and it would seem that way...here's one of those little pc tips you like to give out every so often:

Type your post out, then when you've finished copy/cut it into Word and then hit the F7 key (as far as I remember) on your keyboard, this will automatically bring up the spellchecker and tell you which words you've spelt wrong...it'll also give some guidance on general sentence construction...once you've gone through your post and corrected any errors just paste it back into the posting window.
And yes, we do have Microsoft Word in England....lol that cracks me up! :D

I okay i wasnt sure if you did. all the movies my mom has of england show it as old timey and low technoligy (not spelt right i think) maybe we just never buy new movies :P

Can a mod/admin (whats the differnce) lock this topic since everyone seems to think its pointless
(not to say i wont keep a file of what i can gather on my computer and post it if its ever worth it)

Sadly word is on my parents computer and i cant acess it and the internet at the same time. Although i do rember a forum that had an auto spell check once you hit submit think its worth it or am I the only kid on here.

PS before this topic is locked can you all tell me who you have sold fish to or bought fish from.
