If there's a new spawn before the first batch leaves the cave, will the older ones leave the new eggs alone?

Yup...no problems.

I had the same problem and I was petrified that I would lose either spawn, until a guy called Yann (from planet catfish), informed me that this was quite common when a breeeding colony was formed. Are the spawns from two different females.
