Hi guys and girls
Posted recently about 2 broods in same tank, male evicted 1st brood managed to save 3, 2nd brood took the fry, well attached to eggs tonight, at least 22, i'm so excited.
Also another pair seem to be at it in another cave.
One of my females has broken lines, two of the fry off this one, my second brood has unusual markings, more spots than lines, are these worth keeping? Opinions please.
Can anybody give me advice on beeding L255, I have 6 adults.
Just got 6 juvenile L201 Inspector, assume the same method as L46 can anybody confirm.

The L255 should need REALLY soft water, lower pH, and a bit warmer than most ancistrus, but not quite zebra warm. I know they can be sensitive to keep and they are on my list of fish to purchase at some point. I've not actually kept them, but I've definitely researched them a good bit. Congratulations on yours

The L201 should be pretty much the same as L260, maybe a bit cooler than I personally keep the zebras. Kevin Korotev has spawned them. I'm not sure who else has.

your are correct barbie, I have inspectors together with the queens, and they are breeding well,
by the way can you tell me what is the best temp to breed the zebras?

I work to spawn mine at 86, and condition them as warm as 90 degrees F, depending on what's going on at the time. The fish REALLY eat at that point, so it doesn't take as long .

I have mine spawn at 83F to 84F and they spawn every 4 to 6 weeks.

that would be 28.3 to 28.8 Celcius - for us that do not understand Farenhet
I keep mine at 28C when there's babies in the tank, 30C otherwise.
(30C is 86F for the rest of you

Pleeeeease can we agree on a common system soon? Drive on the right side of the road, measure lenght in metrics, volume in Litres, and warmth in C?

The right side of the road is the Left side.
The Wrong side is the right side...if u follow me...
That way, when ur on ur high horse and some peasent moving down the other side of the path to you annoys you, you can strike them down with ur almighty sawd drawen from your right hand.
How that for some interresting history?
