Hi all
Do any of you have an idea of what the zebras are eating in the wild ?
Maybe it's possible to start a culture with some of the subjects..

Hi Kasper, Sorry I missed this one.
From what I have been led to believe they are primarily scavangers, eating many things from snails to a type of fungal sponge that grows at the base of the xingu.
I'm on the case... give me a few weeks and I will get back with more info.

we have at the moment 372 members now on zebrapleco, if we donate £25 each we could send 2 members to the Rio Xingu to find out
1. if there is a damn being built
2. more about their habitat
3. what their diet consists of
i bags fist seat on the plane

Hamish is right - It would be fair of us to expect you to step up...
So I, selflessly, volenteer to take the 2nd place
on another note - Ours are quite fussy eaters... they dont like prawn for starters! (or main course for that matter

)

I am also curious about what Zebra actually feed on in the wild.... Anyone has input on this subject?
