Hello,

Today I bought 3 new fishes. They are about 7 cm. I think/hope they are female. But ... all three have al blue spot on their ventral side.
They look healthy. The fish store will contact the breeder to give an explanation. Monday I will know more. But in the mean time maybe you can give an explanation??

That would be food they've been eating in their digestive tract. No panic needed ;). Congratulations!

Thanks for the reaction Barbie!

What kind of food can it be? I don't know blue food.

Are all three of them female??

I'd say the food was probably just black. They look totally normal and healthy, IMO, and yes, 2 look female to me.

Without going into to much detail on this subject. Often the colour of faeces is most animals is nothing like the colour of the food that went in. Hence, as Barbie says, the dark (blue-ish) colour is just faeces. A good sign that you have three healthy zebras. :)
