My guess was a boy can anyone with some experience help as i have none

These pictures are all the same Zebra

Also could anyone tell me if he/she looks ok my little zeb is very shy, i'm finding it hard to tell if he/she is eating even the faintist light in the room sends zeb diving for a nice dark spot, and always looks to me like no food is gone.

Hi again hoped to have had a response by now so thought i may not have because you all think im a real newbie so here goes. I also have an L014 pleco and a L128 and a community tank that has 4 rainbows fish 4 perl gouramis 3 platies 4 angel fish 2 electric blue rams 1 shark 8 clown loaches and about 20 different tetras so im not that noob when it comes to fish just the zebra

So any chance someone out there could help me with the gender and let me know if he/she is looking healthy

Hi,
I would say it's too young to tell what sex it is.
Thanks,

I think you have around 1-2 years for them to mature.
But put it this way. Assuming the person you bought them from did not purposely pick on or the other you have a 50% chance either way.
So to have 3 females/ 3 males it would be a 50% chance either way:
Male and Male and Male = 50%X50%x50% = 12.5% chance
Female and Female and Female=50%X50%x50% = 12.5% chance
So the chance of them being all one sex or another is 12.5%+12.5%=25%
So you have a probability of 75% that you will have both, so chance is in you favour
