I have a couple of females that like to position themselves tail first in a cave, I've also noticed the same behaviour in juvenile males. Perhaps they find it easier to defend the cave facing out.

mine are all usually tail out, but when the food goes in they peek out so i take the pics lol

Just a theory, but perhaps immature fish and females do this. Males sit "in-situ" with their heads in. I've noticed this behaviour on my pair of <i>Squaliforma</i>.Shell231 wrote:Mine never ever sit face out of the caves why is this?
