Hi Shell
Most of the fish ciompanies that ship fish have a specific courier they use continuously. This is how they keep the cost down. They can guarentee a certain amount of work.
Otherwise you are looking at a specialist courier doing a "One-off" trip. The last quote I got was £240 to do a pick-up and delivery from Bristol.
The best bet is for me to speak to some couriers nearer the time and find out if they have any planned trips going near me from hastings. That way we just piggy-bag what they are already planning to ship.
I'll keep my ear to the ground.

Hi Shell231,
I have bought fish from various long distance fish outlets such as Trimar in Cornwall, Dorset Discus etc , etc and they all used the same courier ( I think they are called APC overnight). I have never had any probs. Maybe one of them can give you a tel no. Although they are a UK nework they use independent local couriers which then transfer to their network. To courier a box of fish ,less than 20kgs ,should cost no more than £20.
A guy who used to sell fish on Aquarist classifieds even used the Post office next day parcels service.

Des.

Ok i just rung them and they said for a " one off trip " they would do it for £25.60 plus vat !!!!!! 560 miles for this price i am amazed! and they do a sercurity delivery which is were everything is man handled not just put on a belt and sorted. plus that was for a next day delivery as well!! The lady on the end of the phone said they deal with live fish parcels all the time. WOW! THAT IS SO SO CHEAP!!

Hi Shell231,
Remember it is the senders responsibility for the Polystyrene packing, Preferably double bagging and oxygen in the bags, not APC's.
( all good LFS's that use overnight couriers use oxygen in the bags)
