by the way in the first pic jou can see the sand all over the other pipe thats becuase the male has been kind of shoving all of the sand out of his cave maybe cleaning the cave for spawning orsomething he has been to it since i think last week orso but i dont understand there are 2 males of which i thought were far more teritorial and dominant then this male(i can recognize this male easy by his very differrent tale drawings)the biggest male chased my other alfamale away out of his cave the first day i got the big male here is a pic of the cave of the big male.you can see a piece of his tale.

Tariq,
In answer to some of your questions:
Time female trapped.
This can vary from one day upwards. I had one female trapped for longer than a week.
Sometimes this first trapping can be a trial run. She may be able to leave and go to another male.
If the female leaves, and the male does not leave the cave even to eat, there is a big chance that you have eggs.
Leave eggs ?
It is best for the Male zebra to look after the eggs. He is much better at looking after them than we humans are.
Try not to disturb them too much with photography etc as this sometimes leads the male to eat the eggs.
I would advise taking the hatchlings away from the dad , one to two days before they have used up their egg sack.
Good luck.

well the female has left this morning, should i have a look and should the male be deep in his cave or is it normal that he sometimes sits in the entrance of the cave with sometimes the tip of his tail sticking out?
how can i have a look?with a torch the cave is kinda a long about 15 cm.
thanks

Hi Tariq,
Is the female ,a lot slimmer?. Then she must have laid.
Try leaving the male to get on with things. There is no need to keep on looking in the cave/tube with a torch etc.. You will know if he has eggs to look after ,if he DOES NOT leave the cave. If he leaves the cave, most certainly ,there are no eggs.
It is normal for the male to have his tail sticking out sometimes. He will go backwards and forwards when he feels like it.

Des.
