I almost never see the pleco. He/she is always under the driftwood. Very mellow and shy, I've only seen it raise its dorsal when extremely stressed (during moves)

Is there any caves in the tank? If there is and she still stays under the drift wood I would say its a female.

there's a few pot caves but those are occupied by a couple of rams, but even when there were no other fish in the tank (almost a year alone) it always stayed under the driftwood.
Thanks for helping. Now I have a couple of decisions to make.

Well, I got the fish today and
HE'S great!
Wasn't too thrilled with the trip but eating already, so none the worse for wear~

LOL, that's what I said! At least Pam has the 4 other adults so female or male it will have friends
. It's going to make the widening the gene pool thing much easier in a few years to just have to swap males 6 blocks away!
