Hi madmoroccan,
it was a fuse that went in the filter plug and it in turn triped out the main fuse board so 2 filter or heaters would be no use anyway, i was only away for 2 days so i think it was thecold that killed them

Better it happens now than when I get zebs for an idencally setup tank... Shame that I lost an extremely contrasted (dark black and white) L333 in the process.

Did you manage to get to the bottom of what caused the trip? I worked as an out of hours housing officer at my uni last year and the main cause of trip switches disengaging was overloading (too many appliances attached to the same circuit). This predominantly happened in the kitchens. Possibly due to the high comsumption appliances.
