What type of substrate is in your CRS tank? I have notice that type of substrate is very popular with CRS tanks.
Can I purchase it in the States?
The substrate is a Japan brand, "Miaima Breeder Shirakura", specially designed for CRS, helps to maintain an ideal ph(6.2-6.

, kh(2-3), gh(4-5) level for CRS and the producer claims that it is nurtient-free for plants. In order to provide enough nurtrient for the plant, I also have a layer of ADA Amazonia soil in the front.

Yes, the use of both substrate are very common throughout Asia. However 1 bag of Miaima Breeder Shirakura = 3 bag of ADA.

But, I am not so sure if they are available in the U.S.
