4 Adults to Sex Please

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

not an expert here like most of u guys, but definetely #2 is different, wider body, now the question is is it a male, therefore 1 male 3 females or 1 female 3 males?

Tanks for your help more info

Post by jerry58 »

Hi just to say thanks to you for your help
I read an artical on the site about watching what zebs do in the tank to find male and female and I have observed that.......
Have set up the tank now with 4 caves in line along the bottom as it goes zeb 2 and 4 sit over cave entrance and reluctant move away but can change by the morning to other caves. Zeb 3 does the same but is sometimes sits right at the back of cave( like zeb 1). All three of them defend there cave(but not for long and no damage done).Zeb 1 does not have own cave most of the time never engages in fights and keeps hiden behind cave out of sight and if in the cave right at the back up the top corner when male investigates cave zeb 1 comes out like bat out of hell and hides else where. (Sorry seems so long winded)
But do there mannerisms make 2and4 male, 1 female would that make zeb3 siding towards a male??. Please let me know what you think with this new info it is apreciated , thanks

Hi
I know this is a old thread but thought it was fun to see what the fishes sexes have turned out to be.

001 is a younger female (as thought)

002 is my alpha female (got broken line behind her left eye)

003 has got to be alpha male ! (so look after the scrappy fish they may turn out to be the best fish )and I nearly did not buy him!

004 still not sure poss male?

Found this out by markings and comparing pics then and now.

Just can't tell can you.

Jerry
Caution is a most valuable asset in fish keeping, especially if you are the fish.

Jerry great follow up.
I love that #2 looked like a male but turned out to be a female and #3 didn't look so great but turn into a CHAMP! That's so awesome how things work out and the least likely to do great things, turns out to do great things.
Sorry got a little sentimental! :)
