Finally...

Post by twinspots_goby »

I finally got my two zebra babies.  My group has spawned 9 times so far in the past 1.5 years, and I never had survivors. The only problem I had with was that the eggs never hatched. Finally I had my 10th spawn, and they finally made it. I found 2 babies freely swimming aournd in the tank. They are still with their yolksacks. So I collect them in trap and they are doing great. I know that they are at least 7 days old since hatched. I will post a picture soon.

The reason their dad kicked them out is that he is guarding new eggs!!!!!!!!! . This is unbelievable! Within this 6 weeks, He have held 4 spawns. First two turned out bad. He made the 3rd one and now he is on the 4th. He must be really horny male I guess.

The only concern I have is about his health. I haven't seen him come out and eat for a long time. Maybe he did at night while I was sleeping. Does anybody else have the similar experience? Should I seperate the females from him and give him a break after this? Any advice please...

Do not separate the females or do anything else to potentially screw up a good thing ;). He will not overspawn and hurt himself. Congratulations!
