just a wee update

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

just a wee update

Post by civicr »

not been on in a while so just a wee update with my zebs

they are all fine and are looking very healthy and look great,no spawns as of yet. :( but i think 4 or 5 of my zebs are near the mature age.ive added the terracota cave to my tank to go with my diy slate caves which my zebs like both types of caves.id say i have 3 cave dweling zebs but they always seem to move caves every few days tho tonight i had 4 caves with a zeb in each with there tails hanigng out lol

at the end of oct im moving house so my zebs will need to up root an leave but my new house is only 5mins up the road also they have a new tank to move in to its a jewel 1000 deep duo for 12 zebs.does any 1 think thats to big for them>as in there current rena tank its bout the same size the zebs seem to be all over the tank would it be better to make them stay closer together for breeding?
there new tank will be a new design with more open area so i can maybe see them more half slate bottom half sand. and more dark areas in tank to

Hi civicr Yes we would speak you, but as you say you're moving house thought we'd wait till the tanks properly set-up. Let us know how things progress and of course, if you need any advice or just want to show us some photo's then please carry on!

Hey ryan,

Sorry, missed your post.
What's the dimensions of this new jewel tank (don't know that type) and the dimensions of your current tank?
My zebs don't like open spaces in daylight, only at night.
So don't get your hopes up to see them more often
Good luck on your moving house!
Greetings,
John

no plan for moving house as of yet but its only 5mins up the road to my new house. i will be saving most of the water out the old tank and just top it up with the fresh water"like a water change"when i get there.
its also the 1st time ill be able to take photos of my zebs and sex at least 6 of them :)

ill be able to plan my new tank dont think ill mange to set it up tho.as its a new house there will be no hold up with previous owners as there is now i hope the building contractors wil llet me in early to sort things out

tank meassurments are

fluval deep 1000 =100cm x 40cm x 45cm high

current rena aqua life classic 121 x 41 x 55.5

Sorry, i think i am missing something..
Your new tank is gonna be smaller and you think it's gonna be to big for the zebs?
BTW i love your curent setup, i wouldn't change a thing

yeh its a wee bit smaller as the tank is only will have zebs it it,the expensive rena tank kinda goes to waste as you dont see any fish unless u look for the zebs and its my main tank in the living room,in the new house the zebs will be in the spare room away from the dog that bounces around a scares them lol.

i may sell my rena tank or start a new world tank
