Cave sharing with fry??

Post by smithrc »

Its all go in our zeb tank at the moment...

One of our younger males has come of age over the last few weeks and has another zeb trapped in a cave - while the alpha is sat on 5 or 6 new little ones in a different cave.

Well tonight I spotted 2 tails in the alphas cave. I paniced and wasn't sure what to do... I have had a look and the little fry are still in the back of the cave,

What would you do?

thats what I though in the end - I didnt get chance to check the fry this morning...

Is it a possibility that the will get eaten by the new inhabitant?

on second though.. I probably should adjust my statements to include "normally". They don't normally eat eachother.

I came to remember that somebody mentioned a couple of years back that they had a male that would always eat the fry, so the only way to get any survivors from this particular male was to get the fry the day they hatched.

But, this is not normal :) It does happen though...
