Fake plants?

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

Fake plants?

Post by ZebMan »

Anyone see any potential problems with using a few fake plants?

Thanks for the reply Adam! I have heard that fry sometimes like to nibble on plants. Luckily, my zebs are to young to be breeding yet. :wink:

I have yet to hear that or see that on my plants (although I don't mind), but I would go with live plants if you can. Much better aesthetically and the natural plants are much softer on the Zebra's if they happen to brush against it. Moreover, plants are excellent biological filters - they remove nitrates, phosphates and other toxins.

Here are some plants that can handle the heat:
* Anubias sp.
* Cryptocoryne sp.
* Microsorum sp.
* Vallisneria sp.

I also use floating plants to provide shade.
