mold?

hey guys is this bad for the zebs?i think its a mold on the driftwood?do i need to take it out?

I would take the bogwood out and give it a good scrubbing

ps. hit enter before every img-tag to make the picture line up under your text and eachother ;)

It doesn't look good for the enviroment in the tank, so yes - I would think it would be bad for any fish :)

how does it grow on the wood?would it be because of the filter?or water parameters?

Pictures are dead and not working...

I would venture to say that it is algae if it showed up after you put in in the tank. Algae is set off by too much light and an excess of nutrients in your water column.

I think I had the same problem, I scrubbed it a couple of times but it kept coming back so I had to buy new wood.

It's quite common for this to appear on wood from my experience and what I've heard of other people's experiences. It doesn't harm the fish but can be unsightly. Give it a scrub, it may come back but it does go!
