Hi everyone,
I am a relatively novice aquarist. I have one other community tank with some tetras, danios and a featherfin catfish.
I recently discovered these beautiful fish while web surfing.
After reading just about every piece of info on this site over the past week as well as many others I've decided I would really love to try and breed these amazing creatures. I setup a new aquarium and have began the cycle. Hopefully a few months from now I will be able to get ahold of 2 or 3 of these fish and watch their magic.
In the meantime I will be doing everything I can do make a great future home.
Here is a pic of the new tank I have setup:
I don't have any breeding caves yet. I may get a little more driftwood also.
I also wanted to thank you all for the wealth of knowledge you have created.
I look forward to learning more and the experiences that await.

Welcome DanD
Nice looking spacious setup you have there. Keep reading and trying to acquire as much information and knowledge as possible. Rich1988 has a point on the substrate but it really comes down to a personal choice in the end. It will just mean a more rigid cleaning process to try to capture the uneaten food / general waste that gets trapped between the gravel. As long as you keep your water quality in pristine condition all the rest will fall into place. Best of luck
