To Add Malaysian Trumpet Snails (MTS)...?

Post by mistern2005 »

I am going to redo my zebra tank. I am replacing the gravel boulders with 0.5-1 inches of black Tahitain Moon Sand. I also recent got some hitchiking MTS in a recent plant trade. The question is should I intentionally add a few MTS to the zebra tank? I know they get prolific. Would they outcompete the zebras for food? Would they help keep the tank tidy, thus better water condtions? What should I do?

snails produce bio-loads too like any other living thing in your tank.

i keep a few in my tank which is all sand and their purpose is to aerate the sand. when feeding time comes i do notice the snails on the wafers but all of the tummys are full so i dont complain.
