Quarantining Zebras

Post by stanchung »

Hi all, I will be getting my zebras soon

Would like to know what's the best med's if any to use for quarantining. Are they sensitive to certain meds like loaches?

Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi

Post by dave »

I have had several deliveries of L46, some overnight, never had a problem, they have all settled in without medication or water treatment.

When settling them in watch out for symptoms or ailments, then post on here, there seem to be a lot of people with the necessary knowledge.

IME these are fairly tough little characters as long as good water quality is maintained.

Good luck with the fish

If they are tank bred from a local breeder, you should not have to use any meds. I do suggest quarantining in case.

Thanks for the tips guys, I just happen to have a cupboard of meds from keeping discus. lol.
Are zebras sensitive towards moderate treatment levels lets say tetra levels of
Salt-1ppt
Coppersafe ?
Potassium permanganate-light to medium pink
Formalin [worst case scenario]

Anti-biotics
Metronidazole 250mg per 10 gallon
Praziquantel "
Levamisole "

Ciprofloxaxin "
Amoxicilin "
OTC "

Ok, I know I shouldn't worry but perchance I might resort meds of mass destruction?
