Hi, has anyone used any treatments for beard algae in a zebra tank. We're not 100% sure it is beard algae but I have seen photos of hair algae and it doesn't look quite the same.
Hi eklikewhoa, unfortunately, the algae is growing on plants (as well as wires and the heater). So a blackout isn't really a viable option, nor is removing the plants. I was thinking more along the lines of some sort of chemical remedy that someone has used. Thanks.
dosing chemicals could have a negative effect on the zebras but if you really want to an overdose of seachem excel or a high ppm of co2 will kill it off along with a blackout period, the plants will live through the blackout.
