Discus breeder new to the Forum

Post by gsstage2 »

Hi all, I figured I would say something on this board since I have been searching and studying for the past few days. There certainly is a great deal of good and helpful information here.

I have been raising and breeding Discus for the past 10 years or so, with currently maintaining a total of 945 gallons with 30 adults and an uncountable number of young. Of course I have several different types of Plecos in my tanks as most do so well in the Discus type water.

The Zebra Pleco has had my eye for quite some time and am starting to look for some now. I don’t ever add a new type of fish to my collection until I “over” research and am completely confident in there needs and wants.

Hey Jeff. Welcome. I just started with discus and I AM HOOKED! LOL

Just started about 5 months ago with discus and I'm already able to do this...

Discus hand feeding...
High quality (High speed required)
Low quality (Low speed, Alternate site)

Anyways, what kind of discus do you breed? Where do you live? Any pics?

Thanks everyone! I updated my location in my profile, I missed that when I registered for some reason. Crazie.Eddie that video is awesome! They do have great pesonalities, I breed Pepper Free Pigeon Bloods and Snakeskins, I will get some pictures posted (I am on my laptop for a few days until my desktop gets back!) I have a few on the Simply Discus sight.

Nice. Clean PB's. I've never seen any. I would, for sure, like some pics of the parents and offspring. I may have to contact you about them.

Yeah, I like youre PB's. I have one and it's peppered. It was one of my first discus, so I didn't really know too much. The breeder said most of the peppering would go away, but it never really did.

Can't tell how your BSS is, since the lighting makes it appear dark. But I would assume it's vibrant, just like your PB.
