Malaysian Trumpet Snails

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

I just added a ton of them from a fellow hobbyist; they are doing a great job of cleaning up debris, algae and sifting through sand. My only problem is that they stick out like a sore thumb in the black sand and I fear they might be outcompeting the Zebra for food. Does anyone have this problem?

I've got them in all my tanks. They eat dead eggs that are kicked out, but never had any trouble with them trying to get to the live ones.

I do however try to keep the number reasonable, as they will eat the Zebras food, and get in the way of them, if there are too many of them.

Rule of thumb: if you can see them during the day you've got too many ;) Exeption is: if you've got high levels of Nitrate or Nitrite, they will crawl up the glass no matter what time it is.
