To Plant or Not?

Post by Raul-7 »

I recently setup a 20G long; all it has is black sand and some branchy driftwood; but I've always been fond of aquatic plants - so should I plant it or leave it bare? Do Zebra's prefer their tanks without plants (I'm guessing so since they are found in really deep water)? :?

It depends on what plants... we have Java fern tied to the bogwood in our zeb tank. so low light should be ok.

however if you go down the lush planted tank idea, for the plants to strive you will need to up lighting, start adding ferts and then CO2 - not something i would want to do with such expensive fish in the tank (
