If you've got a breeding project on at the moment, (preferably fish related), let us know and you might even get added to the spawn list..whe....hey!

Pleasant suprise - L052 Butterfly spawn

Post by DanD »

I bought 2 L052 Butterfly plecos a few months ago for my community tank. I was not really trying to breed them and did not know their genders but aparently they are male and female and like each other.

Woke up this morning to find a clutch of eggs behind (not inside) of one of the caves. Since they were outside of the cave and there are semi-aggresive fish in the tank I moved the eggs into a fry trap.

I am pretty excited as this will be my first pleco spawn. Hopefully the eggs are fetilized but if not, at least they are trying and there should be more to come in the future.

Pictures coming soon...
